About - David E. Lehman
David Lehman's litigation experience spans four decades of serious engagement in civil disputes covering a wide array of legal issues. During his career at McNees, Wallace & Nurick in Harrisburg, PA, he also served as a mediator in over 100 cases. As a mediator with a keen understanding of the litigation process, of the rigors and uncertainties that parties face when they seek relief from perceived injustices, he quickly grasps the parties' positions and their relative strengths and weaknesses. As an independent and unbiased intermediary, he brings to the mediation table a wealth of substantive knowledge and, even more important, an informed insight into the critical interests of each side that must be served in any negotiated resolution. He has been designated a "Certified Mediator" by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and he served as a member its mediator panel from its inception in 1994 through 2009.
At the close of his active litigation career at McNees, David launched Lehman Mediation Service LLC, in January 2010. Since that time his practice has been devoted to mediation of civil disputes, and parties in more than 400 civil matters have engaged Lehman Mediation Service to provide mediation service. David has also been engaged to serve as arbitrator of certain civil disputes where adjudicative process was needed to determine rights and obligations of the parties. David also has been appointed by the Court of Common Pleas to serve as a receiver in liquidation of deadlocked companies, as a master in real property partition, and as a master in discovery and pretrial management of complex cases.
Long active in both the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County bar associations and their professional and community programs, he was first listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" in 1991, was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, listed among the Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" in 2004, and was named "Harrisburg Best Lawyers Bet-the-company Litigator" for 2010.
Lehman Mediation Service LLC was launched in January 2010, and has become a leading provider of mediation services in Central Pennsylvania. David Lehman's portfolio of completed mediations now numbers more than 400. Frequent "repeat" engagements by counsel who have used these services in the past give persuasive evidence that lawyers recognize effective service and value when choosing LMS as their provider.
